..and this Nickelodeon 15 second competition entry
which i didn't win.
I'm currently working, (animating) & starting work on a short film to keep me busy. I'm gonna be doing some TA work at VFS soon, they're gonna start teaching Toon Boom & I know it pretty well.
Playing a lot of super nintendo.
I update my blog more than this LJ: siskavard.blogspot.com
I just watched my first movie in Blu-Ray (on Blu-Ray? in Blue Ray??)
I have to say I am not at all impressed! Which is depressing! I thought I would enjoy it.
We watched Big Fish. The high quality makes it look as if I'm watching a soap opera. I think it has to do with the frame-rate. It really took me out of the movie as much as I was expecting the opposite.
I think I will enjoy a CG or 2D feature in Blu-Ray, but not anything live action, except for things like the Matrix, which is basically a cartoon anyway.
...oh ya and Nickelodeon said "no thanks" to my pitch, after going back and forth with them for about a month.
They are looking for their shows to be character driven, and they want their shows characters to be aspirational and anarchic, to quote two exact words.
Personally, I don't understand how a character can be both aspirational and anarchic at the same time.
So, you WANT kids to look up to characters that do bad things?
GOD. Am I just an old cantankerous nostalgia fag? I'm finding this cryptic, ugly old game more fun than any modern RPG I've played lately. Ok I've only played Oblivion & Fallout 3, but man. There is just no comparison to the greats.
Anyways, I'm not a video game reviewer so I'll just leave it at that. Thanks for reading.
to becoming a Permanent Resident of Canadia. Miran & I's application took 4 months to process. We got a request for my passport to be sent to Buffalo, NY to get stamped. Sent that off, once it's back, I have to go down to the border to "land"
After that I am officially a resident! I'm so excited. It's been a long and stressful 4 months.
No more getting visas just to work somewhere!
In other news I've pitched an idea to Nickelodeon UK & have been working with them for about a month now, tweeking things, coming up with ideas, etc. Everything seems to be going well so far, my show idea is really appealing to them. If all goes well I will get a green light for a pilot, which will be amazing. If the pilot generates any buzz then its off to a full show!
here's a movie that I hope gets shown around here, looks very awesome. I had heard about it while I was at VFS but forgotten about it. Looks amazing. Anyway, check it out:
Have you ever thought you knew the words to a song and then been shocked to find out what the lyrics really were? What was the song? Did you like your version better?
I'm going to go ahead and try to animate those poses I did the other day, without using too much symbol-based movement that Flash is well versed to do. I'm going to attempt to rough everything out and clean it up, which may or may not work, or even look how I want it to, but that is what is so exciting about experimenting.
